1. The impact of a bottom sediment on the reaction and the content of exchangeable aluminium in a soil – Witold Kazberuk, Beata Rutkowska
The aim of the study was to determine the effect ofbottom sediment on the pH and content of available forms of P,K, Mg and aluminium exchangeable in the soil and on the yieldof oats.
The research was carried out in the Podlasie voivodship onvery light soil. The material for the tests were samples of bottomsediment. In the experiment a bottom sediment from the breedingpond and soil was used. In the sediment bottom sediment sample,the following parameters were determined: pH, heavy metalcontent (lead, cadmium, zinc, copper), as well as the content ofaluminum, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium. The reactionof the bottom sediment was also determined. In soil samples, thecontent of exchangeable aluminium, available forms of phosphorus,potassium, magnesium was determined and the soil reactionwas determined.
The obtained results confirmed the influence of bottom sedimenton reducing the content of exchangeable aluminium in thesoil. The analyzes show that the soil after application of bottomsediment contained significantly less exchangeable aluminium.The sludge also influenced the increase of soil pH and the increaseof magnesium content in the soil. There was no influence ofthe use of bottom sediment on the content of available phosphorusand potassium in the soil and on oat yield.
